24 August 2026: This was the start of a 2 week break, so I'm going to break up the posts over several days. First night we stayed at the Chester Fairoaks CMC campsite and found a great pub a short stagger away where Lois decided to try a new cocktail each night! She claimed this was her reward for getting out on the bikes and cycling along the canal path nearly all the way into Chester!
The next morning it was off to Chester to explore the city walls, the famous and unique Rows. These two-tiered timber-framed galleries line the main streets of the city. There are quirky independent restaurants and bars. In Edinburgh Woollen mill there's a preserved part of the Roman baths!
It was delightful to spend the day strolling round the town, walking the walls and enjoying a drink in the sunshine before heading back to camp!
The next day it was off to Port Sunlight......
