10th August: Our first longer trip in the motorhome, our lodges were both booked, so we took Jasmine up to Galtres Retreat for a stay in the touring park. We were still able to get out and about going to Whitby and Filey with it's lovely long beach.
We almost got caught out by the tide in Whitby! We'd parked our deck chairs close to the pier wall, thinking the tide was quite a way out. We settled back enjoying the sunshine until all of a sudden we saw the tide was coming in and we were about to get wet! Filey was lovely, we relaxed on the beach, had a dip in the sea before making our way back to Pickering.
We were blessed with fairly clear skies in the early evening and so were able to see some of the partial eclipse. Our lodges have been booked all summer, so it's going to be early November before we can go again. In the meantime, we're looking forward to a trip to Cirencester to meet up with Tims sister and brother in law.
